First of all, Welcome! If you've come looking for a laugh and perhaps some unsolicited advice, you're in the right place.

About the Author

I'm Alexis! I am currently a student at Utah State University (Go Aggies!) where I am studying Aerospace Engineering. I am from Dallas, Texas and miss my home terribly.

I absolutely love photography, especially urban photography. I love to run. I believe that it is "everyone's duty to give the world a reason to dance." (Kid President) I listen to a weird amount of smooth jazz and I think that everyone should own at least 2 cat shirts.
I love card games, word games, board games, the quiet game, you name it. I firmly believe that break-apart cookies should have their own section on the food pyramid. I took the whole "Pluto not being a planet" thing deeply personal and am still not over it.
I love love. I love learning.

About "Hey Mister..."

This blog's initial purpose was to chronicle the events that occurred in my life as I served as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Utah Salt Lake City Temple Square Mission.
Over the last 18 months it has changed into a platform where I express my thoughts, feelings, embarrassing stories, fears, obsessions...ect. It isn't so much of accounts of my life, but of the things that make up me. Which brings me to the title of this blog. In the early stages it was just this cute thing that rhymed and explained that I was a sister missionary. Since it has come to mean so much more to me. Upon coming home from my mission I had this huge internal debate about who I was, and what defined me. My status as a full time missionary certainly didn't, but what did?
I concluded what I do with what I have is what is important and it is something that can not be taken away from me. I kept the blog, and the title has changed a little. I'm not a sister missionary anymore but I am a lot of other things, which you can read about on this blog. I encourage you to read this blog for a laugh, I've started to write more and more about my train wreck of a love life, so look forward to that. I'm on Instagram and Twitter (well, rarely twitter, but what can I say, 140 characters just isn't enough).

Stay funky
-Lex
